Saggy ocean dweller
A blobfish is a deep-sea fish native to waters off Australia and New Zealand.
At extreme depths, it looks like an ordinary fish, but when brought to the surface, the loss of pressure causes its gelatinous flesh to expand into a droopy, almost human-looking face.
A viral photo of a dead specimen made it an internet symbol of ugliness and dejection.
