needlefish
Slender toothy fish
A needlefish is a slender, elongated saltwater fish with a long, pointed snout filled with sharp teeth.
Needlefish swim near the surface and can leap from the water at high speeds, occasionally injuring swimmers and boaters.
The name reflects their needle-like shape: We spotted needlefish darting through the shallows.
