homosexuality
Attraction to same-sex
Homosexuality is sexual attraction to people of the same sex, or sexual activity between them.
The term emerged in the nineteenth century as psychology and medicine began classifying sexual behavior.
While once treated as pathology, homosexuality is now broadly understood as a natural variation in human sexuality.
The country decriminalized homosexuality in 1967.
