outing

Brief pleasure jaunt

An outing is a short trip or excursion, typically for pleasure: a family outing to the beach, a company outing.

The word also means the public exposure of someone's private identity, especially revealing that someone is gay without their consent: The magazine was criticized for the outing of several politicians.

To out someone is to expose them this way.
