gullying
Cutting water channels
Gullying is the process by which water erosion carves channels into soil or soft rock, forming gullies.
The term appears in geology and agriculture, where it describes land degradation from uncontrolled runoff: Heavy rains caused severe gullying across the hillside.
Gullying can also mean traveling through or along gullies.
