fidget spinner
Handheld spinning gadget
A fidget spinner is a small handheld toy with a central bearing and weighted lobes that spin when flicked.
Marketed as a focus aid for people with ADHD or anxiety, it became a viral fad among schoolchildren around 2017, leading many schools to ban them as distractions: Every kid in class has a fidget spinner.
