pogs
Stackable cardboard collectibles
Pogs were a 1990s children's game played with small cardboard discs, typically featuring colorful designs or licensed characters.
Players stacked their pogs face-down, then took turns slamming a heavier disc called a slammer onto the stack; any pogs that flipped face-up were won by that player.
The game originated in Hawaii, named after POG fruit juice caps that were repurposed for play.
Pogs became a massive collectible craze before fading quickly, now referenced nostalgically as a quintessential '90s fad.
