spam

Unwanted bulk messages

Spam is unwanted, unsolicited material sent in bulk—especially email advertisements, but also repetitive messages in chat rooms, comment sections, or text messages.

To spam is to send such material: My inbox is full of spam.

The verb extends to any act of flooding with repetitive content: He spammed the group chat with memes.

As an adjective: spam filter, spam folder. (Capitalized Spam is the canned meat product.)
