POP3

Mail server protocol

POP3 (Post Office Protocol version 3) is a standard method for retrieving email from a server.

Unlike IMAP, POP3 typically downloads messages to your device and removes them from the server, making it suited for single-device use: My old email client was set to POP3, so those messages aren't in the cloud anymore.
