morbidity
Illness rate measure
Morbidity refers to the state of being diseased or unhealthy, or the rate at which disease occurs in a population.
In medical contexts, it often pairs with mortality: The treatment reduced both morbidity and mortality.
More broadly, morbidity describes an unhealthy preoccupation with disturbing subjects—death, decay, suffering: There's a certain morbidity to his fascination with crime scenes.
