Sri Lanka
India's southern neighbor
Sri Lanka is an island nation in the Indian Ocean, located off the southeastern coast of India.
Formerly known as Ceylon, it gained independence from Britain in 1948 and adopted its current name in 1972.
The country is known for tea production, Buddhist heritage sites, and a long civil war that ended in 2009.
We visited the tea plantations in Sri Lanka.
