defib
Paddles for flatlines
Defib is informal shorthand for defibrillator—the medical device that delivers electric shocks to restore normal heart rhythm during cardiac arrest.
The word appears in medical dramas and emergency contexts: Grab the defib!
As a verb, to defib someone is to use the device on them: We defibbed him twice before we got a pulse.
