defibrillator
Cardiac shock device
A defibrillator is a medical device that delivers an electric shock to the heart to restore normal rhythm during cardiac arrest or dangerous arrhythmias.
The paddles or pads are placed on the chest, and the jolt interrupts chaotic electrical activity.
Automated external defibrillators (AEDs) are now common in public spaces, designed for use by untrained bystanders: She grabbed the AED from the wall and followed the voice prompts.
