czarinas
Imperial Russian wives
Czarinas is the plural of czarina, the title for a Russian empress—either the wife of a czar or a woman ruling in her own right.
Like czar, the word extends figuratively to powerful women who dominate a field: the czarinas of fashion, media czarinas.
Also spelled tsarinas.
