commoners
Non-aristocratic populace members
Commoners are people without noble rank or title—the ordinary citizens as distinct from royalty, aristocracy, or nobility.
The term belongs mostly to historical contexts or societies that still maintain formal class distinctions: The prince shocked the court by marrying a commoner.
In British universities, a commoner is a student who pays their own way, without a scholarship.
