peasants
Feudal farm workers
Peasants is the plural of peasant, a poor agricultural laborer of low social status, especially in feudal or pre-industrial societies: The peasants worked the lord's land.
The term often carries connotations of poverty, lack of education, or rustic simplicity.
Used as an insult, it dismisses someone as unsophisticated or beneath consideration: I don't wait in lines like the peasants.
