glenoid
Scapular joint cavity
Glenoid describes a shallow, socket-like cavity in a bone, especially one that receives another bone to form a joint.
The term appears most often in anatomy: the glenoid cavity or glenoid fossa of the shoulder blade receives the head of the upper arm bone.
The surgeon repaired the damaged glenoid rim.
