hinge joint
One-axis body connector
A hinge joint is a joint that allows movement in only one plane, like a door hinge.
In anatomy, the elbow and knee are hinge joints—they bend and straighten but don't rotate.
The term also applies to mechanical joints with the same constrained motion: The lid opens on a simple hinge joint.
