condyloid

Oval articular surface

Condyloid describes anatomy shaped like a condyle—a rounded projection at the end of a bone that forms part of a joint.

A condyloid joint allows movement in two planes but not rotation, like the knuckle joints connecting fingers to the hand: the condyloid process of the mandible, condyloid articulation.
