osteochondritis
Joint tissue disorder
Osteochondritis is inflammation affecting both bone and cartilage, typically at joints.
The condition often appears in growing children and young athletes, causing pain and restricted movement.
In osteochondritis dissecans, a fragment of cartilage and underlying bone separates from the joint surface, sometimes breaking loose into the joint space.
