condyles

Rounded bone ends

Condyles is the plural of condyle, a rounded projection at the end of a bone that forms part of a joint.

The term appears in anatomy when describing how bones articulate: the condyles of the femur meet the tibia at the knee, the occipital condyles connect skull to spine.

The surgeon repaired damage to both condyles.
