Offensive zone demarcation
Blueline refers to one of the two blue lines on an ice hockey rink that divide it into three zones—the lines marking where the offensive and defensive zones begin.
A player is offside if they cross the blueline into the attacking zone before the puck: He was a step ahead of the puck at the blueline.
In publishing, a blueline is a proof print made from photographic negatives, used for final review before printing—named for the blue color of the image.
