slapshot
Full-swing puck strike
A slapshot is a powerful hockey shot where the player winds up and strikes the puck with a forceful slapping motion, generating maximum velocity.
The stick blade contacts the ice just before the puck, creating a whipping effect: He wound up for a slapshot from the blue line.
Slower to execute than a wrist shot but harder to stop.
