whiteprint

Diazo copy method

A whiteprint is a copy of an architectural or engineering drawing, produced with blue or black lines on a white background.

The term distinguishes these modern reproductions from the older blueprint process, which produced white lines on a blue background.

Whiteprints became standard because they're easier to read and mark up: The contractor spread the whiteprints across the hood of his truck.
