basinet

Knight's steel headgear

A basinet is a medieval helmet, typically with a pointed or rounded skull and often fitted with a visor or mail curtain to protect the face and neck.

It was common military equipment from the 14th through 15th centuries: The knight lowered his basinet's visor before the charge.

Not to be confused with bassinet, the baby's cradle.
