cloth cap
Working-class headwear
A cloth cap is a rounded, flat-crowned cap with a small stiff brim in front, traditionally made of wool or tweed.
Associated with working-class British men through much of the 20th century, it carries connotations of humble origins and honest labor: He never forgot his cloth cap roots.
Also called a flat cap or newsboy cap.
