basinets
Visored steel helmets
Basinets are light, rounded helmets worn by medieval soldiers, typically featuring a pointed crown and often fitted with a visor or mail curtain to protect the face and neck.
The term also refers to hooded cradles or bassinets for infants—though that sense more commonly uses the spelling "bassinets."
