plate armor
Knight's steel shell
Plate armor is protective body covering made of shaped metal plates, worn by medieval knights and soldiers.
The plates were fitted together to cover the torso, limbs, and head while still allowing movement.
The term distinguishes this from earlier armor types like chain mail.
A full suit of plate armor could weigh over fifty pounds.
