baby boomer
Mid-century birth surge
A baby boomer is someone born during the post–World War II surge in births, roughly 1946 to 1964.
The generation came of age during the 1960s and 70s, shaping and being shaped by that era's cultural upheavals.
Now in or approaching retirement, boomers are sometimes characterized as out of touch with younger generations: OK, boomer.
