tract housing
Mass-produced suburban homes
Tract housing is a real estate development where many similar houses are built on subdivided land, typically by a single builder.
The term often carries connotations of uniformity and lack of character: miles of tract housing spreading into the desert, cookie-cutter tract housing.
The approach dominated American suburban expansion after World War II.
