senior citizens
Grandparents and retirees
Senior citizens are people who have reached old age, typically defined as 65 and older.
The term is administrative and somewhat dated, appearing most often in contexts involving discounts, benefits, or housing: senior citizen discounts, a senior citizens center.
Many older people find the phrase patronizing, preferring simply *seniors* or *older adults*.
