Sea of Galilee

Freshwater Israeli lake

The Sea of Galilee is a freshwater lake in northern Israel, fed by the Jordan River.

Despite its name, it is not a sea but rather a relatively small lake, also called Lake Tiberias or Lake Kinneret.

It holds immense religious significance in Christianity as the setting for several of Jesus's miracles and teachings, including walking on water and calming a storm.

The lake remains an important source of fresh water for the region.
