SSID
Router broadcast identifier
SSID stands for Service Set Identifier—the name of a wireless network.
When you search for available Wi-Fi connections, the list shows SSIDs: The coffee shop's SSID was "FreeCoffeeWiFi".
Network administrators set SSIDs to identify their networks; hiding the SSID adds minimal security since the name still transmits in connection requests.
