WEP
Crackable Wi-Fi security
WEP stands for Wired Equivalent Privacy, an early security protocol for wireless networks.
Introduced in 1997, it was meant to provide the same level of security as a wired connection, but serious vulnerabilities made it easily crackable.
WEP has been obsolete for years, replaced by WPA and WPA2: Their router was still using WEP, so we upgraded the security.
