reconnect
Restore a bond
To reconnect is to connect again after a break or separation.
The word applies to physical connections—reconnect the cables—and to relationships: They reconnected after twenty years apart.
In telecommunications and computing, reconnecting restores a dropped link: The call dropped but I reconnected.
Figuratively, to reconnect with something is to reestablish a meaningful relationship with it: I need to reconnect with nature.
