captive portal
Network access gate
A captive portal is a web page that appears when you connect to a public Wi-Fi network, requiring some action before granting internet access—typically accepting terms of service, entering credentials, or watching an advertisement.
Hotels, airports, and coffee shops use captive portals to control network access: I couldn't get online until I clicked through the captive portal.
