Odesa

Black Sea city

Odesa is a major port city on the Black Sea coast of Ukraine, known historically as a cultural and commercial hub.

The city gained renewed global attention during Russia's 2022 invasion of Ukraine, when its port became central to grain export negotiations.

The spelling Odesa reflects Ukrainian; Odessa is the older Russian transliteration still common in English.
