Lemony salad leaf
Sorrel names two unrelated things.
One is a plant with tart, lemony leaves used in salads and soups—the sourness gives sorrel its name.
The other is a reddish-brown color, typically describing horses: a sorrel mare with a white blaze.
A sorrel horse has a coat the color of the plant's rusty seed heads.
