hippie
Sixties peace advocate
A hippie is a person associated with the 1960s counterculture movement that rejected conventional society in favor of peace, free love, communal living, and psychedelic drugs.
Hippies were recognizable by long hair, tie-dye, and a general air of nonconformity.
The term now applies loosely to anyone with similar values or aesthetic: She's kind of a hippie—grows her own vegetables, doesn't own a TV.
Also spelled hippy.
