Mountains

Earth's tall rises

Mountains are large natural elevations of the earth's surface, typically rising steeply with peaks far above surrounding terrain.

A single peak is a mountain; the plural often refers to a range or region: We're spending the summer in the mountains.

To make a mountain out of a molehill is to exaggerate a minor problem.

Mountain as an adjective describes things found in or suited to such terrain: mountain goat, mountain bike.
