lodge
Rustic overnight quarters
A lodge is a place to stay temporarily, especially while on vacation and near or in a wild place.
Some other kinds of buildings are also called lodges (Masonic lodge, Elks lodge).
When you lodge someone, you provide them a place to stay.
When you lodge something abstract, like a complaint, protest, appeal, or claim, you put it before an authority that can act on it.
If something is lodged in a place, it may be stuck there.
