Latinization
Adopting Roman letters
Latinization is the process of adapting something to Latin form or character—converting words, names, or writing systems into Latin script, bringing religious practices in line with the Roman Catholic Latin rite, or imposing Latin cultural patterns more broadly: the Latinization of Greek philosophical terms, resistance to Latinization among Eastern Catholic churches. (Lowercase latinization is identical in meaning.)
