breviary
Daily office texts
A breviary is a book containing the daily prayers, hymns, psalms, and readings prescribed for Catholic clergy and members of religious orders.
The Divine Office—a cycle of prayers at set hours throughout the day—requires this portable compendium.
By extension, breviary can mean any brief summary or abridgment: a breviary of Renaissance art.
