Internet Explorer

Windows default browser

Internet Explorer is a web browser developed by Microsoft, once dominant but now largely obsolete.

It became synonymous with slow, outdated technology and security vulnerabilities: My company's payroll system still only works in Internet Explorer.

The name is sometimes used figuratively for anything technologically behind the times.
