Windows 98
Microsoft's 1998 release
Windows 98 is an operating system released by Microsoft in 1998, succeeding Windows 95.
It introduced the USB standard to mainstream computing and integrated Internet Explorer into the desktop interface.
The system became notorious for crashes and the "blue screen of death," yet remained widely used in homes and offices into the early 2000s.
