Windows 7
Pre-8 Microsoft OS
Windows 7 is a Microsoft operating system released in 2009, succeeding the poorly received Windows Vista.
It became widely popular for its stability, speed, and familiar interface, and remained in heavy use even after newer versions launched.
Microsoft ended support in 2020, though many users and institutions resisted upgrading: Half our office computers still run Windows 7.
