iPod
Click wheel device
iPod is a portable media player made by Apple, first released in 2001.
It became iconic for storing and playing digital music, transforming how people consumed audio.
Though largely supplanted by smartphones, iPod persists as a cultural touchstone for early 2000s technology: I still have my old iPod somewhere.
The name spawned the -pod suffix in Apple products (AirPods) and influenced podcast.
