Harald Hardrada

Harald Hardrada was a Norwegian king (reigned 1046–1066) whose failed invasion of England in 1066 is often cited as the end of the Viking Age.

His death at the Battle of Stamford Bridge, just days before the Norman Conquest, makes him a pivotal figure in English history.

The name means "hard ruler" in Old Norse.
