King Harold
Arrow-struck English monarch
King Harold refers to two Anglo-Saxon kings of England, though without qualification it usually means Harold II, the last Anglo-Saxon king, killed at the Battle of Hastings in 1066 when William the Conqueror invaded.
His death, famously depicted in the Bayeux Tapestry with an arrow to the eye, marked the end of Anglo-Saxon rule in England.
