Goering

Hermann Goering was a prominent Nazi leader in Germany, serving as Adolf Hitler's designated successor and commander of the Luftwaffe (German air force) during World War II.

He played a central role in establishing the Gestapo and concentration camps, and was convicted of war crimes at the Nuremberg trials.

Goering committed suicide by cyanide capsule hours before his scheduled execution in 1946.

The name sometimes appears in historical discussions as shorthand for Nazi excess and corruption.
